A thin rug on floorboards creeps out of place, rucks up at the corners and feels hard to walk on. This underlay is a dense felt pad with a grippy underside that holds the rug in place and adds a layer of cushioning between it and the floor. It works under rugs on hard floors and on top of fitted carpet. If your rug is an unusual size, choose the nearest pad and trim the edges with ordinary scissors.
