A big bag of rice that stays dry, sealed and easy to scoop from.

Buying rice in large bags is cheaper, but a half-open sack in the cupboard lets in damp and pantry moths and spills every time you pour. This container takes the whole bag, closes with a sealed flip-top lid and a front clip, and has a measuring cup tucked into the lid so the right amount is always to hand. A narrow window on the front shows how much is left before you run out. It works just as well for flour, pasta, oats, pulses or dry pet food.

Why this rice bin makes bulk buying easier

Sealed flip-top lid: helps keep moisture and insects away from dry food.
Built-in measuring cup: stored in the lid, so it never goes missing in a drawer.
Viewing window: check the level at a glance and restock in time.
Raised feet: keep the base off a damp worktop or cupboard floor.
Two sizes: 11 lb (5 kg) for smaller households, 22 lb (10 kg) for large bags.
