Product description
A heavy acacia butcher block that stays put on the worktop and looks good enough to serve from.
Thin boards slide about while you carve and quickly show every knife mark. This board is built from short blocks of acacia set end grain up, so the knife edge slips between the wood fibres rather than slicing across them, and the surface keeps its looks for longer. Its thickness gives it real weight on the counter, and both faces can be used, one for raw meat and one for bread, cheese or vegetables. The rich mosaic of light and dark wood makes it just as much at home on the dining table.
Why an end grain board makes daily prep easier
- End grain construction: the blocks are arranged so the knife works with the fibres, kinder to your blades.
- Double-sided: keep one face for raw meat and the other for everything else.
- Thick and heavy: about 1 in (2.5 cm) deep, so it stays steady while you chop.
- Acacia wood: a dense hardwood with warm, varied colouring.
- Serving board too: carry a joint, a steak or a cheese selection straight to the table.
